Messaging Privacy Policy

Short version: We use mobile phone numbers only to deliver transactional round-result notifications you (or someone in your group) requested. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile data with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes — ever.

1. Scope

This Messaging Privacy Policy describes how Waverider Partners LLC, doing business as GolfTab App ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares mobile phone numbers and related SMS messaging data in connection with the GolfTab mobile application ("App") and the associated website at golftab.app ("Site"), collectively the "Services." It supplements our general Privacy Policy; in the event of any conflict regarding mobile messaging data, this Messaging Privacy Policy controls.

2. Mobile Data We Collect

  • Phone number: The mobile number entered by a round scorer when adding a playing partner, or the number you provide when enabling SMS notifications on your own account.
  • Opt-in record: A timestamped record of how and when consent was captured (e.g., the on-screen disclosure shown to the scorer at the time the number was entered).
  • Message metadata: Delivery status, timestamps, and message identifiers needed to deliver and troubleshoot SMS traffic.
  • Message content: The transactional content we send (e.g., round results, settlement summary). We do not collect inbound SMS content other than standard keyword replies such as STOP, UNSTOP, and HELP.

3. How We Use Mobile Data

We use mobile phone numbers and related messaging data only to:

  • Send the transactional round-result notification a player was added to receive;
  • Honor opt-out and help requests (STOP, UNSTOP, HELP);
  • Maintain a record of consent and message delivery for compliance purposes; and
  • Diagnose and resolve technical delivery issues.

We do not use mobile numbers for marketing, advertising, promotional outreach, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the transactional notification you or your group requested.

4. How We Share Mobile Data

We do not sell or share mobile or personal data with third parties, affiliates, or partners for marketing or promotional purposes. We only share data with third parties when it is strictly necessary to deliver our service and only under binding agreements that ensure confidentiality. Under no circumstances will mobile data be shared or sold for advertising or promotional use.

The only third parties that receive mobile phone numbers from us are service providers acting strictly on our behalf to deliver the messaging service:

  • Twilio, Inc. — SMS delivery and carrier connectivity, under Twilio's standard data processing terms.
  • Mobile carriers — only as required to route the message to the recipient's device.
  • Supabase, Inc. — secure storage of opt-in records and message metadata, under a data processing agreement.

None of these providers are permitted to use mobile data for their own marketing or to disclose it to anyone else.

5. Opt-In

Phone numbers enter the messaging program in one of two ways:

  • Self opt-in: You provide your own number in the App and enable SMS notifications.
  • Group-round opt-in: A round scorer adds your number when adding you to a round. Before submitting, the scorer is shown an on-screen consent disclosure confirming the player participated in the round and expects to receive the round-result notification. Only one transactional message is sent per round.

Standard message and data rates may apply.

6. Opt-Out and Help

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages from GolfTab.
  • Reply HELP for support information.
  • You may also email support@golftab.app to request opt-out or removal of your number.

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Retention

We retain phone numbers and consent/delivery records only as long as necessary to operate the messaging program and to demonstrate compliance with applicable law. When a number is opted out, we retain the opt-out record so that the number is not contacted again, but we do not use the number for any other purpose.

8. Security

We protect mobile data with industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and contractual confidentiality obligations on our service providers.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any mobile data we hold about you by emailing support@golftab.app. California, EEA, UK, and Swiss residents have additional rights as described in our main Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update this Messaging Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes affecting how mobile data is used will be communicated as required by applicable law.
